The fastest quest route runs Krue → Tom → Chaka → Wagwan to level 60, then Final Selection, then Jugg, Goro and Tomoi toward the endgame. Questing is the main leveling engine in Slayers 2 — grinding mobs without quests is dramatically slower.
The Full Quest NPC Ladder
Here is every quest hub in order, with level bands and locations:
| Level band | Quest giver | Location | Notes | |---|---|---|---| | 1–26 | Krue (main) / Kazu (side) | Windy Peak spawn village | Bandit quests for XP; Grandpa Wagon and Sarah quests for Wen | | 26–40 | Chaka | Windy Peak gate | Two quests: clear Kaiden's subordinates, then beat the level 34 boss Kaiden | | 40–62 | Wagwan | Beneath the waterfall, Bamboo Grove | The long waterfall grind — bring food and settle in | | 62–75 | Jugg | Dreamfall Hollow | Steps up mob difficulty noticeably | | 75+ | Goro, Tomoi | Later regions | Bridge toward endgame content | | 145–max | Kasugai Crow | Mission list | Assassination and monster-hunting missions after Final Selection |
Two level gates to know about: breathing training unlocks at Level 25, and the areas beyond Windy Peak (the bear zone, Bamboo Grove) open as you clear the early chain.
Boss Fights in the Quest Line
The quest line's first real check is Kaiden, a level 34 boss at the end of Chaka's quests. He hits hard but telegraphs — fight him after clearing his subordinates so you start at full resources. Later bosses follow the same pattern: quest mobs soften you up first, so manage potions.
Should You Quest or Grind?
Quest. The community consensus is unambiguous: quest chains beat open grinding all the way up. Grinding has exactly two good uses — topping off the last level before a gate, and farming Demon Horns and Beast Cores (the materials breathing trainers demand, which come from demon kills).
The Kasugai Crow: Your Endgame Engine
After you pass Final Selection you receive the Kasugai Crow, which opens a mission list of assassinations and monster hunts. From the 140s onward this list is your main XP source to the level cap — check it every session before doing anything else.
